Getting Lost, and the Angry Inn Keeper
So, today's post will be absolutely boring, I do apologize. However tomorrow's will be exciting as I will share about my trip to the Prater and The Musikverein, and experience that truly changed my life. But that's for tomorrow and many photos will be posted.
Me and my friend decided to go to the Hofburg, a huge mall situated in Vienna. We decided to try the Subway to get there. So as we walked through the subway we saw the number two and hopped on the train. Well it went downhill from here. We saw a variety of youthful people hop on and off the train, as we headed farther into our trip, the people that hopped on the train significantly changed. What once was hipsters, young workers, and various metropolitan people, turned to, grandma's and grandpa's dressed in farm attire, and the train became empty. It wasn't till I checked the map, and realized we were in the outskirts of town.
Also they don't have hard copies of the subway system, so we just hopped off and came straight back home. What turned out to be a quick trip to the mall, turned out to be a four hour train ride there and back. A wasted trip. So we decided to just chillax at home.....
During the night at 2A.M. (I have the worse jet lag on the planet, and my poor friend has to suffer with me), I decide to have the munchies at that time. So my friend dialed front desk for me, the phone only works for her... I take the phone and it rings....
"Halo?"
Me: "Hello, I was wondering what kind of snacks you offer?"
Lady: "Why?"
Me: "Huh"?
Lady: Who's this?
Me: "Tamara room 308, who's this?"
Lady: Maria sch.... room 103"
Me: I am sooo Sorry!
BYE!
My friend laughed at me uncontrollably, so I decided that we would go downstairs to ask the front desk for help, on my munchies. We took the elevator downstairs, and as i come out of the elevator an old man jumps out, pulling his pajama bottoms up and yelling "VAT" At me. I was completely confused, and just stared at him blankly, my other friend came out and screamed "OH JESUS" As the old man scared her as well. There was a long silent pause, at this point, I wasn't going to ask him for snacks so I said that I would like to go outside for a minute. Well I thought we could freely walk out, but no he had to unlock the door for us and wasn't impressed.
What turned out to be an adventure for food turned out to be a nightmare. We left hoping the local McDonald's would be open, Of course it wasn't. So we walked for five minutes, walked back rang the door bell he opened the door angrily and we ran back to our hotel room.
Laughing. This jet lag and hotel are a pain. But I just tell myself, I only sleep there and leave early right?
